Julius is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama Playwriting Department. He is also an NYU graduate, holding both an M.A. from the interdisciplinary Gallatin School and a B.F.A. from the Tisch School of Arts.

Back at Yale, Julius is particularly fond of his thesis staged reading of BLACK FLAMINGOS at the Yale Rep where the superlative cast included Oscar and Tony nominated actress Amy Ryan.

His plays have been produced or read at various small theaters in New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New Jersey, South Carolina, Hawaii, etc.  (He has also directed, produced, designed lights and sets and stage managed at similar venues.)

His theatrical monologues appear in all four volumes of the series
Audition Arsenal published by Smith & Kraus. 

He has also made contributions to The Dramatist magazine.

His 29 minute film ALL THINGS CHICKEN (writer/director/producer), based on his play of the same name, was shown at film festivals nationally and internationally, where award wins included Best Screenplay at the Fire Reel Film Festival in northern California, and Best Score at the Williamsburg (Brooklyn) International Film Festival.  Additional award nominations included Best Short Film, Best Short Screenplay, Best Producer of a Short Film, Best Actor in a Short, Best Supporting Actor in a Short at the Tenerife International Film Festival (actual screening in Madrid, Spain).   ("All Things Chicken" trailer )

His first short film, FIRST NIGHT, was also based on one of his one-act plays – played at film festivals, got over 33,000 hits on the website Funny or Die, and was broadcast on the PBS affiliate KVCR in Palm Springs, CA on January 12, 2013.  Watch the 6 1/2 minute film here:  https://vimeo.com/358634185

In addition to ALAP, Julius is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the writers/actors workshop Safehouse in Los Angeles.  He is a native of Long Branch, New Jersey, and currently resides in LA with his very funny and talented wife, Judy Victor.
